The Science or Knowledge of Life

 

Ayurveda is the oldest medicine in the world, the sister to Yoga, and addresses healing at the root.

​

Ayurveda is first of all a science of right living and only secondarily a system for treating acute diseases. Ayurveda teaches the principles of harmonious living, in balance with nature, society, and our own individual constitution and universal consciousness. As a sister science to yoga, ayurveda is considered a healing side to your yoga practice.

In Ayurveda we say, what is right for one person is not necessarily right for everyone. Each person is unique and his/her path to optimal health is also unique.

​

Ayurveda does not require you to count your calories, only eat certain foods buy special equipment for exercise.  It does require a commitment from you to yourself so you can work towards living a life of peace, balance and harmony in your environment, with nature and society.  You probably have many things in your kitchen cupboard that can help you heal, you just may not be aware of it at the moment.

Ayurveda brings you back to connect with nature, we are all connected to the elements,air, ether, fire, water and earth and our bodies are uniquely made up of the elements in various ratios.

What we chat about.

How it aligns with your life.

What do we chat about at your consultation? Firstly we have to determine what your constitution is and how we do this is, by you answering questions that I send to you before your consultation.  At the same time we figure out what your imbalances are.  At this point a treatment plan designed specifically for you is put together.  Recommendations are made for your on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis depending on how often you wish to do follow up visits.  I recommend weekly for at least the first month, by doing frequent visits you will see results faster.  This is a commitment to yourself to come to your own unique optimal health.  My role as an Ayurveda Health Counselor is to support you through this process of awareness and over come obstacles so you can obtain balance in your life.  

I like to think of my consultations and follow up visits as fire side chats, where you can openly discuss with me your road blocks and together we come up with creative support for you obtain peace, balance and healing in your life.
